Gordon Larson
Gordon graduated from the University of Strathclyde with an Honours degree in Finance before starting his career with the likes of JP Morgan, BNP Paribas, State Street and Morgan Stanley, working with investment funds and hedge funds.
He founded Nordic Commercial Finance in 2018, initially operating as an appointed representative under the name Viking Asset Finance. Following the creation of Asset & General Finance, Gordon joined its board and became heavily involved in the day-to-day running of the brokerage, before establishing NordCom Finance as a client-facing brokerage in its own right in 2025.
Gordon has particular expertise in hard assets, with a strong background in forestry, groundcare and landscaping, alongside extensive experience in renewable energy and other related industries. His work now spans businesses across a wide range of sectors, with the same focus throughout: understanding what a business is trying to achieve and finding the right funding to help make it happen.
Away from finance, Gordon is a self-confessed car fanatic, recovering cyclist and runner, avid reader and on-call firefighter. When he’s not doing any of the above, you’ll most likely find him spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Jonny Cosgrove
Jonny brings 10 years of commercial finance experience to NordCom Finance, joining Gordon to lead the next stage of the brokerage’s growth, having worked his way through the industry from telemarketing and sales support to client management and, most recently, Relationship Director. Along the way, he’s built a strong network and a real understanding of what it takes to find the right funding solution for each client.
He enjoys working with businesses across a wide range of sectors, with particular experience in complex transactions including mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts and restructuring. He’s also developed something of a niche in the motorhome and campervan hire sector, an area he particularly enjoys.
Before finance, Jonny spent time as a footballer with Fulham, with his career highlight arguably being his appearance on FIFA 12. His footballing days might be behind him, but he remains a keen golfer and an avid follower of pretty much all sports. Away from work, much of his time is now spent with his wife and their young son, who keeps life every bit as busy outside the office.
Robbie Hutcheson
Robbie joined NordCom Finance after working in retail with Nike, where he gained valuable experience in customer service and communicating with a wide range of people. Since moving into commercial finance, he’s brought those skills with him and quickly built his knowledge of the industry.
At NordCom Finance, Robbie works closely with clients, the wider team and lenders to help deals progress smoothly and efficiently. He’s developed a strong understanding of the lender market and how different funders operate, helping to find the right route forward for each client. He’s also developed a particular interest in working with motorhome hire businesses.
Outside finance, Robbie is an on-call firefighter, continuing a family tradition that dates back to 1967 through his grandfather and dad. He’s passionate about health and fitness, is a massive petrol head, a big dance music fan, and enjoys the occasional night out.
Bethany Ball
Originally from South Shields and now based in Edinburgh, Bethany has a background in property maintenance and sport, where she developed a strong foundation in customer relationships before moving into commercial finance.
With particular experience in refinance, she works across all areas of commercial finance to find the right solution for each client. A real people person, Beth enjoys getting to know the businesses she works with, understanding what makes them tick and building relationships that go beyond the deal itself.
Outside work, you’ll find her at gigs, wandering around art galleries, keeping an eye on the latest fashion or making the most of a good night out.
Abbie MacFadyen
Originally from the Isle of Mull, Abbie joined NordCom Finance after graduating with an Honours degree in Business Management. Before moving into finance, she spent six years as a tour guide, including three within the distillery industry, giving her first-hand experience of a sector she is now building her commercial finance specialism around.
Abbie is particularly passionate about supporting distilleries and rural businesses across the Highlands and Islands. Having grown up and worked in the region, she understands the opportunities and challenges that come with running a business in rural Scotland and enjoys building relationships with the people behind them.
Outside work, Abbie enjoys car rallies, visiting distilleries, painting and art, and has a strong connection to her local community.
Martin Tait
Martin brings more than 20 years of experience in banking and commercial finance, including two decades with Lloyds/Bank of Scotland as a Relationship Manager and Business Analyst. Having moved into broking, he enjoys the freedom to look across the market and find funding solutions that genuinely fit each business.
He has worked with businesses across a wide range of sectors, including real estate, healthcare, agriculture, retail, haulage and manufacturing, as well as having first-hand experience of hospitality as a former restaurant owner and bar manager. He particularly enjoys hearing the stories behind businesses, understanding the pressures owners face and helping them find the right way forward.
Outside work, Martin enjoys live sport, concerts and festivals, as well as travelling with his family, campervan adventures and seeking out a new brewery or two along the way.
